Employment Status: Laid Off, not Paid Off

"On the twelfth day of being laid off, my former employer gave to me, a severance check taxed higher than Warren Buffet's yearly taxable income."

Today would be considered Day 12 of not having a job (aka: Lady Unemployed, Laid-off and Not Lovin' it, Not doing jack shit as far as work, Victim of severance pay don't PAY da bills, Ms. Product of poor choices of a CEO w/ his head up his a@@, Recent corporate girl turned professional complainer, etc.).

Not working is not me. I held my first job at age 16 (selling storm windows for a telemarketing company in Downtown Mpls) and have never been unemployed at any point since then. If it wasn't for my getting sick and being drugged up on antibiotics and cough suppressants with codeine the past seven days, I'd probably have an interview or two lined up, or at least have some leads.

It never occurred to me that my eight weeks of severance pay would actually amount to about one month's worth of income. That means, instead of having eight weeks to find a job, I have four, and since Christmas is within that time range, I have three, which pretty much means I need to find something today. And, since it's already after 6 p.m., it'll have to wait until tomorrow.
